Finding a job in Sweden can be difficult. One very valuable lesson that we have learned here is that truly it is not what you know but who you know. Regardless of your experience, education and language skills your success in finding a job often will be directly linked to how well you get out there and network. Even if a company is not hiring at the moment, pick up the phone and call them anyways, try to schedule an “informal” meeting where you can learn more about the company and introduce yourself. The more you do of this the better. If you pick up the phone you will be one step ahead of a Swede. If you go in, and meet with a company then you are a world ahead.
